Empowering Changemakers through Education

The three colleges within NSU’s health professions division bear the name of local cardiologist, entrepreneur, community leader, and philanthropist Dr. Kiran Patel. Along with his wife, pediatrician Dr. Pallavi Patel, the Patel Family Foundation has made philanthropic gifts totaling a record $80 million to help advance health care locally and globally.

Comprehensive Accreditation

The NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine has been granted accreditation by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). This body is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accrediting agency for colleges educating osteopathic physicians and surgeons.

The NSU D.O. program ranks as the 10th-largest in terms of total enrollment among the 35 accredited colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States
